Sri Lanka has the best win ratio in T20 World Cup history. They had a bad world cup edition in 2007 but in 2009 they won almost everything before losing to Pakistan in the finals. They managed to reach semi finals in 2010. After being one of the most successful teams in World T20 history, still they are yet to clinch the title. This can be their best opportunity as they will enjoy the home conditions.
With Dilshan, Jayawardene, Mathews and many others to name; all in good form Zimbabwe will have a tough time out there. They also have to face the unplayable yorkers of Malinga. Yes we can't forget Zimbabwe defeated Australia in the first ever T20 World Cup played in 2007 (in group matches). But expecting another such performance will be a big ask at this juncture.
The spin department of Srilanka looks fatal with the likes of Ajantha Mendis and Herath. Zimbabwe batsmen need to tackle their spin well to survive throughout the innings. Having all said and done, by no means any team can be written off in the shortest form of cricket and this makes T20 more exciting!
