COLOMBO: Kamran Akmal put on a batting display in securing victory for Pakistan against India in the warm-up T20 World Cup match.

Pakistan started their innings with a target required run rate of 9.30 runs an over. Pakistan lost its opener Imran Nazir in the fourth over followed by Nasir Jamshed two balls later who went for nought, followed by back to back wickets of Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi in the tenth over. Afridi lost his wicket for duck as well.

Pakistan were 91-5 in the twelfth over when Umar Akmal was caught and bowled by Ravichandran Ashvin.

With four overs to go it seemed Pakistan faced a certain loss, with the required run creeping up over 12 runs an over, the boys in green began to shine. Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik gave Pakistan the needed boost brining the run rate steadily down, with a partnership that gave the team a quick 50 from 30 balls.

The cracker of a match went down to the last over with Pakistan requiring just six runs from it.

Pakistan won the match with five balls to spare.
